What You Need For The Prestigious Cornell Medical School

Nestled in the scenic Ithaca New York is the storied Cornell University. This Ivy League school was established in 1865 by Ezra Cornell and opened its doors just shortly after the American Civil War. This new university was founded with the idea of teaching everything from the classics to the sciences, giving the attendees a wealth of knowledge from which to choose from. Since then, Cornell University has grown to be ranked consistently in the top 15 universities in the world. One of the means by which this school is considered so great is with the addition of the prestigious Cornell medical school.

The Cornell medical school is actually a satellite extension of the main campus in Ithaca. The Cornell medical school has two locations. The most widely known is the New York City Campus and there is also a medical school campus in Education City, Qatar.

Cornell medical school has a very stringent application process and the requirements for Cornell medical school involve a $75 application fee which must be submitted my October 15 of each year. It is also necessary that a potential student must successfully have completed the MCAT and the SAF. In addition, all letter recommendations and any other supplemental information will need to be submitted to the admissions board as well.

In the matter of cost the admission and application process will likely come up to around $3,000 and yearly tuition for this Ivy League school can range upward to around $40,000 per year. While this is certainly not a cheap option, if getting the best and most comprehensive medical degree is important to you, then that will come at a price.

There is little arguing that getting a medical degree from an institution like Cornell medical school is not only comprehensive, but it is also prestigious as well. From this prestigious medical school have come such giants as former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, Akins diet Inventor Robert Atkins, to Harry Heimlich, inventor of the Heimlich maneuver, and other medical personalities such as Dr. Joyce Brothers and Dr Benjamin Spock are all fellow Cornelians. Adding your name to this rather illustrious list might be reason enough to make it your goal to receive a medical degree from this fabulous university.

Medical School Equipment Has Changed Over Time

By Jane Worthington
It's amazing to think of the things we do today, without a second thought, as being nonexistent a few hundred years ago, if not less. What if we didn't have medical school equipment? Our doctors would be schooled entirely by books, and not at all with hands on practice in the lab, x-ray division, or surgical areas.

Cornell is a good school, my brother went there and says it has some of the best programs in the country, besides he also says that when you go to get a job at a hospital they love to hear you came from cornell (apparently a lot of great doctors came from that school!)

I keep hearing great things about cornell college, it seems every time I find a site that is discussing the best medical schools to attend, cornell is at least mentioned in the mix. reading this, now I understand why, but I tend to lean on the side of every person has their own prefrence of school based on more than just the education the school provides. When you have to study that hard (medical school is impossibly hard) it is important to be comfortable in the school of choice. I have no doubt cornell is a great school, and I'll certainly look deeper, but I wanted to tell anyone looking or a good school to go to to keep in mind that you should go actually visit the school before making your choice, you may be surprised!

Cornell is a great school. I graduated, although I didn't do as well as I'd of liked to I feel I got an amazing education. In my time at Cornell I discovered that my original first choice (Harvard) wouldn't have worked out too well for me, one thing about medical school is it's more than just the education, it's being comfortable with the curriculum. When considering your school, take everything into consideration, do your homework and learn all you can about the school. You can talk to students and professors to get an idea of the "feel" of the school. Cornell was great for me but Harvard may be better for you!
