The Rich History And General Information About Drexel Medical School


 

There are many good medical schools out there where a medical student can get an excellent education, but none can compare with the rich history of Drexel medical school located in Philadelphia, PA.  In 1948 the Homeopathic College of Pennsylvania was founded and was intended to educate medical students in the field of homeopathic medicine.  It was renamed Hahnemann Medical College in 1869 after Samuel Hahnemann, a pioneer in homeopathic medicine and gained the status of university in 1982.  Around the same time (1850) the Female College of Medicine (the world's very first school of medicine for women) was established and later (1970) became the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
