You will also have tests (MCAT for one), applications, interviews and admissions acceptance to go through before you get into med school.  This process can take at least a year, so it is important to prepare as early as possible.   The more you know about the pre med schools you are considering, the easier the process will seem to you.  If you want to get into one of the top pre med schools, you will need at least a 3.5 GPA and high MCAT test scores.  Typically, these medical schools are not just looking for students who are adept in the sciences, but are also diverse and well rounded in other academic areas.
